Hello Everyone,
As we approach the holiday season it may be nice to have a theme that centers around it. So I thought that perhaps the fortnightly theme could be a poem about gifts or a story centered around a family dinner table. Perhaps there's something unique to the way you celebrate the holiday season. So try to make your poem more of a narrative, but keep it short and sweet.

Fortnigtly Theme
My apologies for taking so long on the almost fortnightly theme, as I have been quite busy with schoolwork. Anyways our theme for the next two weeks will be a list poem. A list poem is exactly as it sounds, but you can be creative with it. Some people take a list of objects and the only thing that ties them together is the title. Other poets will just list things periodically throughout a particular work. Here is an example of a list poem by Ted Berrigan: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/182173.
Fortnightly Theme
I hope that all is well, and that everyone has a nice Halloween weekend. In the spirit of the holiday, I think it would be nice if this fortnightly theme was centered around something spooky. So with that in mind, I thought a nice theme would be to create a prose poem where it's centered around a scary story or something mysterious. Humor is always welcome and if you're looking for inspiration you could try one of the many short stories written by Edgar Allen Poe like the Tell-Tale Hear, which is found here: http://www.poestories.com/read/telltaleheart.
For those of you that don't know what a prose poem is, it is a poem that is written with
Fortnightly Theme
This theme, for the next two weeks, is on the "I do this, I do that poem." Made famous by Frank O'Hara. I would like for you to try his style out, it's something that you may have never done before and is unique. A good example of a "I do this, I do that" poem can be found here: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/171368
Fortnightly Theme
Over the next two weeks try and write a poem about strangeness. Take a moment that has happened to you and jot it down and then try and compose it into something more meaningful. For example, the other day a friend of mine told me how a homeless man told him he invented the hover craft and the internet. While I have not written something about that yet, it is a perfect example of a strange occurrence that could lead to a potentially interesting poem.
Good luck!
Joe
